The development defined by the confluence of “health”, “nature” and “edu – tainment” (education and entertainment) is located on a wooded site in the lower Himalayas. As an environmentally friendly development the site plan integrates the topography of the land with the varied functional / programmatic requirements of the project. Both water and energy conservation were of primary concern.
A variety of housing types were provided for and they included three bedroom cottages arranged in clusters that vary from four to six in number collectively forming small neighbourhoods terminating in a cul de sac, four bedroom houses are individually sited amidst tree filled plots of land. The size of the houses vary from 2400 square feet to 4200 square feet. An apartment building is located on the lowest part of the site so as to not obstruct any views towards the mountain ranges. Studios, one and two bedroom apartments along with accompanying supplementary amenities such as a restaurant and bar, a billiard and snooker room, a library, convenience store and a laundry are housed in the structure.
Other facilities related to “health”, “nature” and “wellness” that the development offers are a botanical garden, camping grounds, horse riding, a mini golf course, spa and therapy centre, running tracks and paths of varying distances and a rock climbing wall are further amenities that underscore the themes of “health”, “nature” and “edu –tainment” .
Both the architecture and the landscape plan conformed to the highest possible environment and sustainability standards and are founded on the belief that the quality of our environment has an overriding effect on the quality of our lives.
